Invitation Letter Category

The Invitation Letter category is offered solely to enable prospective participants to apply for a visa in advance. Upon obtaining a visa, applicants may upgrade to any available participation category by paying the applicable fee difference. This category is not intended to serve as a standalone participation option or for any purpose other than facilitating an advance visa application. The Organizer reserves the right to decline or cancel requests that, in its reasonable opinion, are inconsistent with the intended purpose of this category.

General Terms and Conditions for CGDL Events

  1. Application Fee
The application fee for Funded categories is mandatory and non-refundable under any circumstances.
Incomplete applications will not be evaluated or considered for selection.
  1. Selection & Notification
Selected participants will be informed via email.
Confirmation of participation must be provided within the specified timeframe. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the opportunity.
  1. Promotional Consent
By applying, participants grant CGDL the right to use their name, biography, and submitted materials for promotional purposes related to the event.
  1. Data Usage & Privacy
Personal information will be used exclusively for application evaluation and event organization.
CGDL will handle all personal data in compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations.
  1. Selection Process

All applications are reviewed through an evaluation process coordinated by the Center for Global Dialogue & Leadership (CGDL). The review may be conducted by members of the CGDL team and, where appropriate, independent experts or advisors invited by the Organizer.

Applications are assessed using a holistic review process that may consider a range of factors, including but not limited to the quality of application responses, demonstrated leadership potential, motivation, relevant experience, potential contribution to the conference, geographic representation, gender balance, diversity of backgrounds and perspectives, and the overall composition and objectives of the delegate cohort.

Funded participation opportunities are limited and are offered at the sole discretion of CGDL. Satisfying the eligibility requirements or submitting a complete application does not guarantee selection.

All evaluations and selection decisions are final and are made at the sole discretion of CGDL. The Organizer reserves the right not to disclose evaluation scores, internal deliberations, rankings, or the reasons for selecting or not selecting any applicant. No appeals or correspondence regarding selection decisions will be entertained.

  1. Fee Disputes
Applicants not selected for Funded categories cannot dispute the application fee.
CGDL reserves the right to counter any claims, and the applicant assumes responsibility for any associated losses.
  1. Funded Categories
A limited number of fully and partially funded seats are available, awarded on a competitive basis.
  1. Event Liability
CGDL is not responsible for any loss, injury, damage, or theft during the event.
Attendees are responsible for safeguarding personal belongings, complying with safety regulations, and ensuring their own well-being.
  1. Legal & Conduct Agreement
By participating, applicants agree not to pursue legal action against CGDL regarding the non-refundability of the application fee.
Participants must refrain from any form of defamation (oral, visual, or auditory) against CGDL. Violations will result in legal action.
  1. Force Majeure
CGDL is not liable for delays or disruptions caused by circumstances beyond its control, such as natural disasters, pandemics, labor strikes, or government actions.
Visits to international institutions as part of any program are subject to availability and approvals.
  2. Airfare Support

Where included as part of a funded participation package, airfare support is provided by way of reimbursement and is not issued in advance unless explicitly confirmed in writing by the Center for Global Dialogue & Leadership (CGDL).

The reimbursement limit applicable to each participant is determined exclusively by CGDL and may vary between programs. In establishing the applicable cap, CGDL may consider factors including, but not limited to, available program funding, the participant’s place of departure, anticipated travel costs, and operational requirements.

Reimbursement is limited to the lower of the approved reimbursement cap or the participant’s eligible airfare expense and is subject to the submission of satisfactory supporting documentation and compliance with all applicable program requirements. CGDL reserves the right to review, verify, reduce, or decline any reimbursement request that does not meet these Terms and Conditions or the requirements of the relevant program.

By submitting an application or participating in a CGDL event, applicants acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions.
