Anoud Shalwani is a passionate Emirati professional with extensive expertise in managing aviation portfolios. Her career is marked by leadership in critical initiatives, including overseeing environmental sustainability programs and spearheading technology and innovation projects. With a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government, Anoud combines academic rigor with practical experience to drive impactful change. Her commitment to sustainability is exemplified by her published research, Airports’ Climate Resilience Planning: Evaluation Framework, which advocates for integrating climate resilience into airport planning processes. This research emphasizes the importance of predictive, strategic, and adaptive responses to hazardous climatic trends, reinforcing Anoud’s role as a thought leader in sustainable aviation.
Beyond her contributions to the local aviation industry, Anoud has represented the UAE on international platforms to advocate for climate resilience in aviation. She participated in the ICAO Air Navigation World event in Montreal, Canada, under the theme Shaping the Skies of Tomorrow, where she highlighted the critical importance of incorporating climate resilience into global airport operations. Shreya Kataria has studied at The University of Western Australia, for a Master’s in Renewable and Future Energy. She did her bachelor’s in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and is grateful to have had the opportunity to work in multifarious roles across different sectors of eCommerce, Banking and Central government administration in India. She is now pursuing a master’s at UWA to pursue a career in devising solutions to address climate change and environmental issues. Recently, she did an internship as a Reaching CaLD Energy Consumers Intern (Licensing and Customer Protection) at the Economic Regulation Authority ERA where she assisted with designing out barriers to access that create exclusion, inequality, and unfairness in markets and designing a toolkit to improve how information about utilities and energy use is provided to the customers. Besides this, at the University she has been involved as a Girls in Engineering GiE ambassador, Association for Services to Torture and Trauma Survivors ASeTTS ambassador and an aged care volunteer visitor at the Association for Culturally Appropriate Services AfCAS.

Bia Turnbull is a proud South African and Youth Fellow at the International Youth Think Tank (IYTT). She holds an International Master’s Degree in Security, Intelligence, and Strategic Studies from the University of Glasgow, Università di Trento, and Charles University Prague, specialising in Great Power Politics and its implications for development and democratisation in Africa and the Middle East.
Currently working as an Intelligence Analyst, Bia is passionate about international security, development, and democratisation through a post-colonial lens. Her experience spans academic research, activism, and collaborations with NGOs, particularly addressing postcolonial racial justice, migration, and reconciliation challenges.
As a former Mandela Residential Fellow at the Centre for Diplomatic Advancement and an active IYTT Fellow, Bia is deeply committed to advancing peace and reconciliation to strengthen democracy and equality. Engagements include various conferences and workshops, moderating and facilitating the IYC 2024 Conference and Nobel Symposium in collaboration with the Nobel Institute, as well as organising a youth-focused reconciliation workshop with UN peacekeeping in Cyprus.
